Turn in unused prescription drugs, get a $5 gift card

bso-logo(SUN SENTINAL)   A new tactic in the war against drug abuse: Turn in your unused prescription drugs — and collect a $5 pharmacy gift card as a reward.

“Operation Medicine Cabinet,” in two locations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, is meant to remove potentially lethal or addictive drugs from households where teens looking for a high, or other illicit users, could find them.

The effort, sponsored by the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the United Way, will be held at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., and the Sheriff’s Office district facility in Cooper City, at 10580 Stirling Road.

The $5 coupon will be redeemable at any participating Walgreens, CVS or Wal-Mart.
