Newtown School Massacre: A Travesty Which Brings About Immense Gun Control Advocacy
(Alec Scheer) It was a brisk Friday morning in Newtown, Connecticut. Many parents carried out their morning routines of packing their children’s lunches, getting them ready for school, and eventually driving them to school.
As most would conclude, the usual worry for a parent would be that their children will make it through the day safe. Typically, this is what happens, however, the worry lingers in the sub-conscious of their minds.
It is Christmas time. They are looking forward to spending time together on Christmas morning. Sipping on eggnog and hot chocolate, the typical American practice, and opening the gifts one another had gracefully bought for each other.
Only a few hours after their daily routines, they come to find out that there has been a shooting at the school where they had dropped of their children. Only to find out that, among the students at the elementary school, 20 young and innocent kids were slain by a deranged 20 year old man. The death toll included five or so factuality members who had also been killed. The grief set in. Families left bewildered, all hastening to find out if their children were alive or not.
