And the race is on!
(Stephanie Kienzle) In North Miami Beach, campaign season is in full swing. If you need any more examples of the lack of leadership and competency at city hall, just try to find out when “official” campaign signs are allowed to be plastered around the city. It was supposed to be February 1st until Councilman Frantz Pierre made a motion to change it to March 1st, thereby making it even harder for challengers to the incumbents’ seats to get their names known to the public. Anyone in attendance or watching on television that particular council meeting will tell you they thought the motion was duly seconded and approved. We are now finding out that this may or may not be the case. Huh? Queries made to the city attorney have resulted in just more confusion. If anyone actually knows what the date is, please enlighten us.
This is going to be the first of what I expect to be a multitude of columns expressing my opinion on the candidates. Remember, I said “opinion.” It’s mine, and like tuchuses, everyone has one. The only difference is that I have a website. Under the First Amendment, I can express my opinion to as many and as few who decide to read it. If you don’t like my opinion, feel free to either ignore it, debate it, send me hate mail or post your comments to this column. I’m a big girl, I can take it. I reserve the right to stand by my opinion or change my mind. If you want to try to convince me to change it, be my guest. Knock yourself out. But, you’d better have a compelling argument because in The World According to Stephanie, I’m always right. (Except when I’m wrong, of course.)
In this column I am going to critique the current sitting council people, most of whom already have contenders for their seats. I will address challengers in future columns and the contenders are still throwing their hats in the ring.
