  • The reporter says that the state law allowing legally armed citizens to enter public buildings (which, by the way, THEY paid for) has been ignored “for years.” A more clear way to rephrase that is “For years, the people who are writing and enforcing the laws which regulate our society, have been ignoring those same laws, putting themselves up as rulers instead of representatives. Instead of being examples of law abiding public servants, they have been nothing but self-serving bureaucrats who willingly break the law when they can get away with it.”

Here is the truth. Armed citizens have a MUCH lower rate of criminal acts than government employees, including the police. Add to that truth, the fact that it is the local government policies which have been in violation of the state law. This news report fails to focus on the fact that the city government is the one that has been breaking the law, but instead focuses on the imaginary danger of common citizens being able to protect themselves. This report makes it sounds like the trouble is due to normal citizens, when the bother and cost is due to the city government’s unwillingness and unhappiness with following state law.

  • ” Armed citizens have a MUCH lower rate of criminal acts than government employees, including the police” are you implying that “government employees” and “police officers” are NOT “armed citizens”?

  • Joy316 grab a brain it is obvious what Jason is saying. He is saying government employees and police officers are not armed citizens because Jason is thinking they are rulers/tyrants and dangerous narrow-minded thugs so as not to equate those folks with the rest of us citizens who are not in that criminal class of citizens.

Jason is also right to point out that those of us who do not work for the government are much more honest and much less crime prone than those who work for the government or are dirty corrupt dangerous costumed police thugs.

No I do not work for government and yes I think government wages and pensions should be cut so as not to be more than the average wage of the private sector. This will help stop the criminals from wanting those positions, ggod people will always want to work for government no matter the wage.

Yes I support my local police. I run a donut shop.

  • On opening day of deer season, as I’m fond of telling the police in Pennsylvania, there are approx. ONE MILLION men and women “out and about” armed with high powered rifles and pistols.

I get a kick out of the cop’s expressions.

The older ones pretty much know this but often the young ones look at me like I’m some kinda conspiracy wingnut or similar to the look I get when I explain to people just how big a number ONE TRILLION is.

One million seconds = 11 DAYS.
One billion seconds = 33 YEARS.
One trillion seconds = 33,000 YEARS.
