(FEDERALJACK) The US has many billionaires, and many of them have decided to make specific government policies their pet projects. They sink millions of dollars into agendas that affect our everyday lives, even when those agendas have nothing to do with – or stand in stark contrast to – the verticals where they made their money.
(FEDERALJACK) On this edition of DTRH Popeye welcomes back to the broadcast, friend, author, activist, researcher, and whistle blower Charlotte Thompson Iserbyt. As you all know Charlotte has written a book exposing what is really going on with our educational system titled THE DELIBERATE DUMBING DOWN OF AMERICA. Tonight she explains how the order of Skull & Bones is connected to the control of the educational system, government, industry, banking, and more. (FOXNEWS) House Republicans are investigating allegations that EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and other high-ranking agency officials have been conducting officials business with email aliases or secret accounts to avoid scrutiny from agency watchdogs and the public.
The House Science, Space and Technology Committee is leading the investigation and has asked Jackson to turn over information connected to the email account “Richard Windsor” – one of the alleged alias accounts.
The committee has sent letters to White House lawyers and the EPA inspector general asking them into investigate the allegations and report on their findings by the end of the month.
The Daily Caller reported first that Jackson was using an email alias, based on research by Competitive Enterprise Institute fellow Christopher Horner.
He says the agency’s use of secret email accounts dates back to the Clinton administration and then-Administrator Carol Browner.
“You remember Ms. Browner, the lady who suddenly ordered her computer hard drive reformatted and backup tapes erased, hours after a federal court issued a ‘preserve’ order … that her lawyers at the Clinton Justice Department insisted they hadn’t yet told her about?” Horner said in the Daily Caller story.
Horner and the institute filed a lawsuit in September claiming EPA employees are using the private Gmail type accounts to send official emails.
The House committee says federal law requires agencies to preserve all internal records associated with official activities and prohibits the use of private email accounts for government business, unless there are procedures in place to track and store such messages.
An EPA spokesman said Monday the agency has for roughly a decade assigned internal and public email addresses to administrators and that they use the internal one to communicate with staff because of the massive amount of traffic on the public accounts.
The spokesman also said both accounts are reviewed and made available when a Freedom of Information Act request is made.
The committee also said the email allegations follow “similarly secretive and highly questionable methods of communication by senior officials at science agencies within the White House, Commerce Department and Energy Department.”
(Tom Ley) The Chronicle of Higher Education is reporting today that it has obtained evidence demonstrating that, contrary to claims from his family’s legal representatives, former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno was in fact able to use email. And he wasn’t afraid to do so in order to try and protect his football program.
An email exchange between former Penn State president Graham Spanier, vice president Gary Schultz, and athletic director Tim Curley that was reported by CNN last week seemed to suggest that the university administration had decided not to report Jerry Sandusky to the proper authorities after being dissuaded by a conversation with Paterno.
Paterno’s family responded to CNN’s report by claiming that select emails were being leaked in order to smear Paterno’s name, and that Paterno himself never actually used email, meaning there was no record of him being involved in the alleged cover-up.
Today’s story in The Chronicle refutes the claim that Paterno hadn’t used email, though, as it points to an email that the coach sent to Tim Curley in 2007 after multiple Penn State football players had been involved in an off-campus fight:
After the incident, Mr. Paterno wrote to Graham B. Spanier, the university’s president, and “Tim”—presumably Mr. Curley—through an e-mail account used by the coach’s assistant, Sandi Segursky.
“I want to make sure everyone understands that the discipline of the players involved will be handled by me as soon as I am comfortable that I know all the facts,” said the April 7, 2007, e-mail, which was signed “Joe.”
It’s not entirely clear what Paterno meant by “discipline of the players involved will be handled by me,” but Vicky Triponey, a former vice president of student affairs at Penn State, seems to have had an idea. According to the Chronicle, Triponey was copied on the correspondence between Curley and Paterno, and she responded to Curley:
Thanks for sharing. I assume he is talking about discipline relative to TEAM rules. Obviously discipline relative to the law is up to the police and the courts, and discipline relative to violations of the student code of conduct is the responsibility of Judicial Affairs.
This has not always been clear with Coach Paterno so we might want to clarify that and encourage him to work with us to find the truth and handle this collaboratively with the police and the university. The challenge here is that the letter suggests that football should handle this and now Coach Paterno is also saying THEY will handle this and makes it look like the normal channels will be ignored for football players.
Last year, the Wall Street Journal reported that clashes between Paterno and Triponey over player discipline had led to the dean’s departure in 2007—by Triponey’s account, after the university president informed her that “Mr. Paterno had given him an ultimatum: Fire her, or Mr. Paterno would stop fund-raising for the school.”
The exchange published in the Chronicle appears to support the idea that Paterno believed his football program should be immune to normal university discipline. And he wasn’t shy about flexing his muscle. Even over email.
(Clay Travis) Joe Paterno’s legacy has come crumbling down.
His statue may follow. if he was still alive he’d likely die in prison. That’s because Paterno lied to the grand jury and obstructed justice in a massive cover-up that went to the height of college athletics hypocrisy.
In a scathing report released just minutes ago — the site immediately crashed — but we already have the quick takeaways here: Freeh’s report cited a “callous and shocking disregard for child victims” as well as a “total disregard for safety and welfare” on behalf of Penn State president Graham Spanier, athletic director Tim Curley, vice president Gary Schultz, and former head coach Paterno.
In particularly damning evidence the report uncovered that Paterno and other top officials were aware of the 1998 sexual assault allegations. All men have publicly lied about this fact before now. The Freeh report says that Paterno followed this 1998 investigation closely “but failed to take any action.”
From a May 1998 email with the subject line “Jerry’ athletic director Tim Curley wrote to Schultz: “Anything new in this department? Coach is anxious to know where it stands.”
Penn State conducted its 1998 investigation, and I’m not making this up, while Sandusky sat on a weight bench in the facility. The interview was conducted in a comfortable setting “so as not to put Sandusky on the defensive.”
The report also concludes that Paterno and Penn State allowed Sandusky to retire ‘not as a suspected child predator but as a valued member of the Penn State football legacy.”
In maybe the most shocking revelation of all, only Curley even spoke with Sandusky about the 2001 charges, they just notified his charity of the shower — which determined it was a “non-incident” and took no action — and took away his keys to the building.
Shockingly, on October 29, 2011 — when Joe Paterno set the all-time coaching record Sandusky was sitting in the Nittany Lion club. Yep, he still had free season tickets.
From 2000 to 2008 Penn State even allowed Sandusky to continue his youth football camps on campus.
That completely boggles the mind.
This is the greatest sports scandal in American history.
Last week I wrote that if Joe Paterno was still alive it’s likely he’d face felony charges, in light of this report that’s 100% true.
I’ll continue to update this page as I read more of the report, but rest assured of these facts:
1. There was a cover-up at Penn State.
2. Joe Paterno and others lied their asses off to protect themselves at the expense of children.
For those looking for an NCAA angle, consider this portion of the report that hints at NCAA violations for a failure to disassociate Sandusky from the program. In particular, the report notes that in 1997 an agent who bought $400 in clothing was quickly disassociated but nothing was done to Sandusky. Said president Graham Spanier “the agent fooled around with the integrity of the program and I won’t allow it.”
God forbid a kid get free clothes.
Last week I wrote that every Paterno win since 2001 should be stripped. After reading this report, I was too generous. If he was still alive, it’s likely Joe Paterno would end his life in jail.
