Rand Paul Votes NO on GMO Labeling

(Farm Wars)   Thought that endorsing Romney was bad enough? In another turn of events that exposes the corporatist leanings of Rand Paul, Senator from Kentucky, he has voted NO on a GMO labeling amendment to the farm bill “to permit States to require that any food, beverage, or other edible product offered for sale have a label on indicating that the food, beverage, or other edible product contains a genetically engineered ingredient.” The following is taken from the United States Senate Website.

  • Traitor!!!

  • trai·tor (trtr)

One who betrays one’s country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.

  • Raptor

    Raptor may refer to:

    A bird of prey

Informal name for species in the Velociraptor genus of dinosaurs, or members of the family Dromaeosauridae in general

The U.S. military F-22 Raptor, a United States Air Force stealth fighter aircraft

MV-22 Osprey training squadron of the United States Marine Corps known by the nickname "The Raptors"

  • We see Rand Paul’s true colors now, and Im sad to see that my sorry senators from Ohio voted against GMO labeling also. We need to find away to get these devils out of office.

  • Doesn’t the 10 amendment permit the states to require a label anyway?

  • These results are not very surprising.

  • I can always count on Illinois Senators throw us under the bus. Every time!

  • Rand Paul hasn’t had both oars in the water since he put on a suit of mass destruction and got into election politics. Something tells me he never got along with his father very well. Against labeling GMOs in food and his father is a physician? Odd.

  • Rand Paul definitely has his reason for voting NO. Why did he vote NO? Perhaps it is because this legislation would just be, yet again, another rule; and thus also another rule imposed on the liberties of entities of which reside within the compounds of American diplomacy.

Let us remember that this is only news after all being reported. Yes, GMOs are nothong near as beneficial as organic foods are, but I argue that Rand Paul’s decision alone does not make him traitorous.

In the end, I am in no way shape or form saying that the aforementioned reason above is why Rand voted NO, it is only a mere example of what could be a reason for his action.

We are all subject to our own political ideological leanings. Let us respect one another, along with each and everyone’s valuable opinion. If we simply contemplate the possibilities for and of an action we may even surprise ourselves. Let us not fall and become lowly by reveling in a display of animosity, but act like the human beings we are and have some maturity.

  • I don’t know. Rockefeller voted for it. Perhaps there was something about the bill that wasn’t so good.
