STUART — A Stuart man is charged with animal cruelty for allegedly taunting a police K-9 while the dog was confined to a patrol car.

Moses Rogers, 28, was arrested after officer David Duran saw him yelling at the dog in a restaurant parking lot.

Duran continued to shout profanities after he was approached by the officer, according to arrest records.

He was jailed in lieu of $750 bail following the incident Sunday morning.
