Liberal Blogger Furious Over His Obamacare Premiums (What The Hell Kind Of Reform Is This?)

(Michael Lotfi)   You wouldn’t expect to see a headline that reads “Obamacare Will Double My Premium” on the Daily Kos website. Daily Kos is about as far left as new media news sources come. Proceeds from the website help to fuel the progressive movement within America. Liberal blogger Tirge Caps posted the following article more than two weeks ago. However, it has only recently gone viral as those opposed to Obamacare have caught wind to what is really happening.

“My wife and I just got our updates from Kaiser telling us what our 2014 rates will be. Her monthly has been $168 this year, mine $150. We have a high deductible. We are generally healthy people who don’t go to the doctor often. I barely ever go. The insurance is in case of a major catastrophe.

Well, now, because of Obamacare, my wife’s rate is gong to $302 per month and mine is jumping to $284.

I am canceling insurance for us and I am not paying any fucking penaltyWhat the hell kind of reform is this?

Oh, ok, if we qualify, we can get some government assistance. Great. So now I have to jump through another hoop to just chisel some of this off. And we don’t qualify, anyway, so what’s the point?

I never felt too good about how this was passed and what it entailed, but I figured if it saved Americans money, I could go along with it.

I don’t know what to think now. This appears, in my experience, to not be a reform for the people.

What am I missing?

I realize I will probably get screamed at for posting this, but I can’t imagine I am the only Californian who just received a rate increase from Kaiser based on these new laws.”

Caps was right- People are screaming on the liberal site. One reader writes, “Wah! Wah! I hate Obamcare!  You sound like Ted Cruz.” Another tries to claim Caps is lying, “He’s probably dead wrong on the details here-” One even blames Caps’ price increase on the insurance company, “So basically Kaiser raped you on renewal and tried to blame it on ACA.  If this isn’t proof that this whole industry needs reform nothing else is.”

There are a few readers who seem not to be choked by the Stockholm Syndrome of Obamacare. One reader says, “I am not looking for anything more and I don’t want to pay more. Thank you for the NEW BENEFITS but I didn’t ask for them. I am happy with our current plan. And for double the rate increase, no thank you. I came in to buy a Nissan, not a Mercedes.”

  • Title should be “cheapskate lefty thought he would have somebody else pay for his insurance but horrified to learn he has to pay out of his own money”

  • “Cancellin insurance and not paying”

    You’re my kind of person!

We need more like you, more to stand together and say NO!

It’s counter the Constition, but even if it were, it doens’t beneift the vast majority of THE People. And it doesn’t matter if the “Law” is changed and/or ratified by 2/3 of Congress, it’s not working for us!

BTW, “lasws” are only “Statutes” – but tptb will have the “peasants” believe them “written in stone.” Statutes can be overturned….and at the end, even “Laws” can be repealed, if the “Pweasants” don’;t comply, and do everything to throw a “Spanner” in the rotten wheel of government.

“Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them.”

  • Obamacare was never about healthcare. It is about money, power and control(over you). Like Ron Paul said, Obamacare will destroy healthcare and bankrupt the nation. But then, that’s the idea. Mission accomplished.

  • Can anyone say Single Payer System. The ACA was designed to fail so we would all demand a single payer system, which should have been implemented in the first place, when it all falls apart.

Justify to me why an insurance company should take 40-45 cents out of every premium dollar for overhead such as bonuses. Medicare uses 95-97 cents out of every dollar for healthcare.

  • 120 DAYS: Fasten your Seatbelts… It is going to be a bumpy four months…

    by Fred Cederholm | October 21, 2013 – 10:22am

I’ve been thinking about 120 days. Actually, I’ve been thinking about scheduling, Drs’ appointments, concealed carry in Illinois, four holidays, Obama Care, the National Debt, and the next Congressional showdown. It is going to be a busy and chaotic four months. I’ve have been updating my calendar and the things which will be occurring between now and mid-February are enough to blow your mind. While I will really have little impact on the events, the events will certainly have a major impact on me. I suspect that will be true for a great deal of the people.

You see the last quarter of the calendar year is generally pretty full of things which one gets drawn into doing. This is even truer in 2013 for me. I could not schedule, or had to re-schedule, a number of Dr’s appointments last summer, or in early fall, so my four periodic visits are falling over into the next four months. I have never had this many different MD’s in my life, but when you have had a couple of open heart surgeries with several complications this happens.

This week I will be drawn into the League of Women Voters’ forum on the new concealed carry law in Illinois. While I will not be “packing concealed heat,” I want to learn how this change will impact me. Thursday night Oct 24th at 7:00PM in FNB Rochelle’s VIA Room in the May Mart Plaza, there will be two County Sheriffs, two State’s Attorneys, a local police chief, and some other elected officials to field questions from the audience. I already have several things which are unclear in my mind. I expect to get answers at the forum.

I have already prepped for Halloween (I have my Hershey bars and got the electric pumpkins out of storage), but I am now receiving the invites for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. There will be multiple gatherings for several of these… so scheduling becomes really important. I so look forward to the re-connecting with family and friends. In these past years it seems like the only times I get to see a number of these people are during the holidays. Everybody is just too busy these days. This is a tragedy of modern life…

I will not be eligible for Medicare until a year from this December so the possible enrollment in Obama Care is hanging over my head as well. Enrollment began a couple weeks ago and has proven to be a nightmare. Uncle $ugar’s gateway website, we have learned, has cost US the taxpayers over 2/3s of a BILLION bucks; it keeps crashing, or just plain doesn’t work! Literally millions of American will lose their insurance in the disaster that is the re-pooling of insurees. Add to those, the millions who do not have insurance, and you begin to see what a goldmine this legislation could be for the insurance companies. But… the technical requirements and regulations are so voluminous that several major underwriters are choosing to get out of the medical insurance business altogether. This will compound the problems encountered.

I found it interesting that almost three-quarters of the now tens of thousands of pages of regulations/ legislation deal with enforcement and fines for non-compliance. Face it; this is a tax revenue bill! If this were such a great deal for the public, why the great focus on all the fines and penalties and on collection of them? These apply not only the general public, but to the medical professionals, the clinics, and the hospitals as well. Where is the carrot? I only see a big stick…The 4,000 pages of the initial law were badly written, confusing, and very costly to virtually everyone. We are now only beginning to learn about the true costs and the flaws.

Since Congress never saw a complete bill until after it was passed into law, we are only beginning to feel the adversely impacts of this whole process. I have yet to learn how this will be “affordable” and provide “care” for everyone, or anyone for that matter. I fail to see the need for disclosing my income, savings, bank accounts, or investments in an application. Shouldn’t the focus be on my chronic and acute ailments? As of now I am betting I will not participate and will pay the penalty in my 2014 tax returns. I can see a lot of people making that same decision.

The debt ceiling was not “raised” a week ago, it was “suspended” for 120 days. This explains how Uncle has added a third of a TRILLION to the debt in just one week. Few payments were issued since May so Uncle is now in his catch up mode. The “can has been kicked down the road” until February 15th when the next financial crisis will hit. This will hit just as the campaigning season begins for the mid-term elections. This will be hanging over everyone’s head during all of the holidays. How is that for the epitome of bad (or no) planning?

I’m Fred Cederholm and I’ve been thinking. You should be thinking, too.

  • my understanding is that it does require a lot of information. I will never complete it.

  • Amazing how many people supported this nightmare as long as they thought someone else was going to be paying for it. When they get the bill, suddenly they’re outraged. Who do you think was going to pay for it, the poor? How can they? The rich? Hahahaha.

You would think by now we would be running out of suckers. I guess they keep making more.

  • Our Kaiser premium went up 42%, we are keeping it because we have a baby, but otherwise would down grade to the cheapest HMO. Reading the Kaiser crap on the company website, I found out that transgender services are now available and covered. WTF does that mean?? I am paying 42% more to staple on penises and sew up vajayjays??? Thanks Obama, I am so having a penis added to the equipment list, since now it is covered, and I paid for it. Obamacare is Pure BS.

  • “I don’t know what to think now. This appears, in my experience, to not be a reform for the people.

    What am I missing?”

Yet another leftie wakes up. I wonder what he’ll say when the govt starts moving people off their land and seizing it?
