(THE BLAZE)   In retaliation against the New York newspaper — the Journal News — that published the addresses of those pistol permit holders in two of the state’s counties, a blogger has created a map pinpointing the addresses of the newspaper’s employees.

Mimicking the title of the Journal News’ original article, Robert Cox with “Talk of the Sound” headlined his post: Map: Where are the Journal News employees in your neighborhood?

He wrote:

The map indicates the addresses of all Journal News Employees in the New York Tri-State area. Each dot represents an individual Journal News employee — a reporter, editor or staffer. The data does not include freelancers — reporters or photographers — which can be hired without being an employee. Being included in this map does not mean the individual at a specific location is a responsible reporter or editor, just that they are a reporter or editor.

[...]

To create the map, Talk of the Sound submitted Google searches for the names and addresses of all Journal News employees in the New York Tri-State area. By state law, the information is public record.

Cox went onto explain that putting together the map has been a crowd-sourced effort between other bloggers and readers. He wrote the map will be updated as more information continues to become available.

He also noted that since the publication has downsized in recent years, some of the names of employees might not be current. So far, dozens of names and addresses have been collected and published.

See the full-size map here.

Another blogger has been curating the names and addresses of News Journal employees as well (via Beta Beat). Christopher Fountain, a Greenwich, Conn., real estate agent on his blog For What It’s Worth, generally composes posts about real estate and home improvement, has been voicing his thoughts on the News Journal’s publishing of gun owner addresses and also recently linked Cox’s interactive map of employee addresses.

Actually the New York paper did break a law. I cannot find the link now but I read an article a few days ago that showed that under the New York Freedom of Information Act rules a party may not seek a list of all holders of a specific class of license. Apparently, under New York State law, one may not get the names of all license holders of a type of license nor may one publish the names of all license holders. When I find the link again, I will post it. There is so much written about this that it is hard to find the work that has real incite. Apparently, the paper should not have been given the list. They therefore had no right to publish information that they had no right to receive. I look forward to to the class action lawsuits filed against the paper and the individuals making the decisions. I hope that criminal charges are filed.

It is now very difficult to find the article that I read within the last few days. It is a shame because there is so much hogwash about it but that was a really important point, you are not allowed to have a list of all holders of a license in an area unless you are a police officer involved in a legitimate investigation of a crime. Another interesting point about this case is that the paper has set itself up for lawsuits due to proximate cause etc. as stated in the following article which is of secondary importance in my view to the article that I am attempting to locate.

Here it is! It was illegal for the paper to even receive a list of all license holders in a specific geographical area. I would imagine that it was illegal for them to publish the information. I would imagine that that bunch of vicious collectivists at the paper are in for a tidal wave of legal trouble based on this and the above information regarding proximate cause etc. I would imagine that the paper will be destroyed and will not even survive as the "bird cage liner" that it is now (in the words of this article). The vicious collectivist responsible will probably be driven bankrupt, too.

Automobiles kill a thousand times more people than guns. Why don’t they publish the names and addresses of all the people who own cars?

This kind of map and app needs be charted for those on the Federal Reserve, CEO of Citibank, Chase, Monsanto and all the TRULY CORRUPT, high powered perps. This map needs the names and phone numbers for Geithner, Paulson, Bush, Bernanke, Daimon, Rubin, Bill Kristol, Kissinger…. and lets throw in Netanyahu too.

Now that the perps have led the way by publishing data?

Lay it ALL out there- but among the GENUINE criminals, not law abiding gun owners, but those who have destroyed America.

  6. Yama Arashi says:

Thanks to the dirty criminal traitors at the newspaper, criminals targeted a home for burglary to get the gun, apparently.

we need this kind of map with the addresses of Bernanke, Geithner, Kissinger, John Bolton, Greenspan, Rubin, Paulson, Blankfein, Rahm Emanuel, Abe Foxman, CEOs of Merck, Monstanto, Citi, JP Morg etc the REAL criminals who have destroyed our nation.

THEY are the perps whose data should be publicized FAR AND WIDE with a bullseye on their homes, like their proxies in the media did to law abiding citizens. Preemption people, turn it right back on them.
