  • “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

    – Benjamin Franklin

  • This is nothing new to South Florida. We’ve had all kinds of technology watching us for years in Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, Dania and Miami. From towers in the Oakwood Shopping Center parking lots, to police vehicles parked in Shriners lodge parking lots where they can observe a chunk of neighborhood. The large RVs at the Publix parking lot on Dania Beach Blvd, as well as the vans that are everywhere you go. So the article is way behind the times.

  • Big Brother is watching you. Hey Lauderdale! Orwell’s 1984 was FICTION, NOT a PLAYBOOK.

  • Perhaps its just me, and I’m not suggesting anything of the sort, but I think a lot of our ancestors’ generations would have thought such a “peacekeeper” needed to meet up with the ol’ “peacemaker”.

  • I am surprised that- IF- these are neighborhoods that are filled with criminals, none of these alleged criminals hasn’t crept up to it and lit a match underneath it…or sent a molotov cocktail over to it.
