(FEDERALJACK)   On This Edition of The Intelhub.com News Brief Popeye covers the facts about the Florida Stand Your Ground Law. He shows examples of how the law has allowed people in Florida to protect themselves, as well as two stories from elsewhere in the country where gun owners were able to defend themselves. And he goes over the story of Marissa Alexander, a legal gun owner who did defend herself under the Stand Your Ground Law and is in jail because of a Judge’s misinterpretation of it.

  1. JosephConrad says:

The illegally armed security guard who shot Trayvon Martin instigated the encounter that resulted in the youth’s shooting knowing he had a clear advantage in the subsequent encounter – a handgun. His actions and telephone recording clearly indicate his ‘intent’ to confront and shoot Mr. Martin. This case is like so many others in America that have resulted in th murder of young Black men. It is totally different from the alexander shooting incident because she retreated from a violent spouse. Zimmerman contrarily, sought out his encounter and created a situation in which his only course of action would be to murde Mr. Martin. It was a ‘setup killing’ all the way…
