73,846 US Soldiers Dead from both Gulf Wars, How they manipulated the numbers to fool you

(ATS)   Iraq War Deaths Exceed Vietnam War Numbers.

Department of Veterans Affairs Reports 73 Thousand U.S. Gulf War Deaths.

More Gulf War Veterans have died than Vietnam Veterans.  This probably is news to you.  But the truth has been hidden by a technicality.  So here is the truth.

The casualties in the Vietnam War were pretty simple to understand.  If a soldier was dead from his combat tour, he was a war casualty.  There are 58,195 names recorded on the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC.

But something odd has happened with the Iraq War.  The government, under the Bush administration, did something dishonest that resulted in a lie that’s persisted since the war began — and continues to this very day.  They decided to report the war deaths in Iraq only if the soldier died with his boots on the ground in a combat situation.

The actual figures have been hidden from the American public just like the returning, flag draped coffins were censored from the press.  But the figures are now available and we can only hope that the American people will be outraged when they learn how they have been misled.

According to The Department of Veterans Affairs, as of May 2007, reports in the Gulf War Veterans Information System reveal these startling numbers:

Total U.S. Military Gulf War Deaths: 73,846
* Deaths amongst Deployed: 17,847
* Deaths amongst Non-Deployed: 55,999

The stastics for non-lethal injuries are likewise staggering:

Total “Undiagnosed Illness” (UDX) claims: 14,874
Total number of disability claims filed: 1,620,906
* Disability Claims amongst Deployed: 407,911
* Disability Claims amongst Non-Deployed: 1,212,995

Percentage of combat troops that filed Disability Claims 36%

I know you probably will think this is another conspiracy theory

More deaths and mysery to follow…

More than 1,820 tons of radioactive nuclear waste (i.e. depleted uranium) were exploded in Iraq alone in the form of armor piercing rounds and bunker busters. This represents the worlds worst man made ecological disaster ever. 64 kg of uranium were used in the Hiroshima bomb. The U.S. Iraq Nuclear Holocaust represents far more than fourteen thousand Hiroshima’s.

The nuclear waste the U.S. has exploded in the Middle East will continue killing for hundreds of years! That’s how long these particles of radioactive dust will continue to blow around, get lodged in someone’s lungs or be ingested. Scientists calculate that there is now enough radioactive material in Iraq to wipe out a third of the world’s current population.

While we never found any WMD’s (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in Iraq, we sure made up for it by importing our own! Birth defects among Iraqi newborns are up a whopping 600% from before the war. The defects are typical of the kind produced by exposure to radioactive poisons. And these injuries are happening to the civilian population of Iraq — the people we were supposedly “liberating.”

You have an excellent factual website. Keep publishing the truth.

  2. I guess it’s relative safe to say that we now know why they didn’t want people to see all of the coffins coming back from the middle east?

  3. Kevin says:

I can attest that in 2004 on active duty we volunteered CONUS to unload coffins at an AFB. The shifts were 12 hours, two shifts per day, for three weeks. I’m not aware whether this activity was taking place prior, at other bases, or both. I am also unaware whether, but suspect the affirmative, this has taken place since. We have long held that the numbers were sourly misrepresented, but what is new under the sun?

  4. Gravator says:

The non-combat number is not statistically relevant: In any US population of 1,000,000 (military or civilian) you’re going to have deaths by accident that’s somewhere around 1,000 per year.

  7. Tim says:

1000 deaths per million per year…maybe among the elderly civilian population…sure I can see it. But not in the military where most are 35 years or younger, unless you are including suicides which should not be included…they should have their own category.

Damage control mode: Looks like the VA took the pdf down.

  9. PleasesirmayIhavemoredata? says:

More than 1,820 tons of radioactive nuclear waste is HUGE. THis is the gift that will keep on giving for thousands of years. IT makes all the current deaths look puny. DO YOU HAVE A SOURCE FOR THAT NUMBER ?

In Vietnam 18,xxx Americans died in combat. The rest died in helicopter and traffic accidents in-country, and then long after the war ended, the VA could decide that some guy died due to injuries suffered in Vietnam, so that guy’s name got added to the list. Of the 18,xxx who died in combat, it is widely believed that about 6,000 died due to friendly fire. That 1/3 rate is higher than for regular wars and was the result of troops calling in air cover on their own positions.

It would be very useful to see a breakdown of the casualty figures for Iraq. How do they count troops who died in-country, but not in combat ?

  10. abubaqar says:

i am sorry to hear about the loss of life,do you people consider the loss of innocents in iraq and afghanistan by your forces?
it has come to light that saddam was willing to agree to anything to save his country and the taliban offered osama for trial too but were refused by western leaders???
you christians have been duped into another war by zionist jews like the 1st and 2nd world war when millions of you died for what?? freedom? you got to be joking, which nations had that freedom enjoyed by you?
i wish peace to all believers in god but you must wake up to recognise your enemy and its not muslims!!!

  11. j r says:

I wonder how many will die in the coming years from all the depleted uranium they absorbed?

It’s very sad but they all signed up to kill and die to make rich people richer. I’m sure the rich people appreciate their sacrifice.

  12. Colonel Frank Weston ret. says:

It is the job of the military to defend this country from DOMESTIC enemies. DO YOUR JOB SOLDIERS AND SOLVE OUR CURRENT MANAGEMENT PROBLEM! NOW!!!
Is the District of Columbia even a state? Where is their star on my flag? Are they operating from OUTSIDE America? Who owns it? Anyone seen the contract? Maybe you guys should go over there and take a look see.
    Obey your oath.

  13. Sergeant says:

Actually a casualty is not necessarily a death. A casualty is just the term for a wounded service member. We probably would have had more deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan than Vietnam if it wasn’t for modern battlefield medicine. There are thousands of people who are alive simply because it was possible to preform surgery on someone only a few hours after they get wounded.

  14. Howard T. Lewis III says:

You would have thought the fighting personnel in the army would have been fed up with Bush and Obama dishonor like this long ago. When Bush was missing from his National Guard duty, the South Korean American embassy profile on GW says he was running a houseplant import wholesale. I say he did it in the Pacific Northwest and was pushing houseplants on fishing boat crews to make more productive workers, at their own expense, during the arduous workshifts. Now, under Pres. Dover, the military is acxtually aiding Afghanistan opium farmers move their product.
The military and the people would be happier without the Council on Foreign Relations running the show.

  15. dr kabir says:

when will bush and obama realise their mistakes.must they fight all the wars.from Baghdad to Tripoli.God will judge them on those souls.Americans should think twice.

  16. No doubt this was another way to screw soldiers and their loved ones out of benefits.

  17. tron says:

the PDF stipulates that the numbers are for 1990-1997, not from “both” Gulf Wars. also, it does not list or explain anything about the “non-deployed” figure. what does this term mean exactly?

  18. JEFF says:

When a baby is born in the United States, a birth certificate is registered with the Bureau of Vital Statistics in the State of birth. The key word here is “registered” as registered in international commerce. The baby becomes the surety, whose energy is due at some future date. When the birth certificate is registered in the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Department of Treasury issues a bond on the birth certificate ($1,000,000) and the bond is sold at some securities exchange and perhaps bought by the Federal Reserve Bank, which then uses it as collateral in order to issue Federal Reserve Notes or some other form of “debt obligation” (see 18 USC §411). The bond is then held in trust for the Federal Reserve at the Depository Trust Corp. At 55 Water Street, in New York City, about two blocks down the street from the Fed. It is a high rise office building and the sign out front reads “The Tower of Power”.

James, you are a total idiot if you think that is the case. The reason the U.S went in is to gain control of the mineral wealth and of course the oil. It has nothing to with freedom at all. What it is some very rich people within Governments wanting even more money and wealth for themselves.

Why do you think so many Oil agreements have been signed with the West recently. The U.S think that all the Iraqi oil belongs to them, the only problem is that it is under all that sand.

what the U.S won’t tell you is that 18 months ago they found a huge natural oil reserve of there own somewhere in the Northern Mountainous region, the name escapes me at present but it was reported.

Why are the U.S bothering with Iraq’s oil when they have enough of their own ?
I’d also learn to spell if I were you, rather than hollering about how good the U.S is !!!

  22. Lindsey Connor says:

This is about the Gulf War – not the current war in Iraq. And the link provided in the article is to a VA document which gives figures of a study done on how many Gulf War veterans have died in total – from all causes – since then. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with war-related deaths – just a mortality study of deaths in general. Unless there’s something I’m completely not seeing in the document, it appears not to support the contention of this article.

  23. happensdance says:

The whole US is going to wind up the spout, to the tune of an amount that can never be recovered! Whe n George W. Bush launched the invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq and now Obama has launched Libya; and he is circumnavigating an attack on Pakistan, then back to Iran. This is the same politics as the previous Bush administration if the truth be told.

Many are still so proud to know more of these young people are dying to keep us all safe. What sense does that make? It is really the same way of thinking that spawned endless war in Eurasia (Middle East) by Oceania and its ally East Asia in Orwell’s book “1984” (before the whole damned story was changed and reversed). As long as people refuse to stop the advance, more are going to die. The taxpayer has to shoulder the costs of it anyway, so wake up and bloody stop it now!

I just heard about this tooo. Someone mentioned the federal reserve places a bond on us. And they own us in a sense of a strawman. That washington is not a state it is 10 square miles of land that doses corporate business with the states and our birth certificates mean that we are corprate property. I think we have to look at the baqck of our social security card and there is a number that starts with a letter and that letter is. Supposed to indicate which federal reserve holds the bond on us. I think we have to get aq hold of them and claim our selves as property or claim the bond or some shit to get our freedom back or just kill these NWO cocksuckers
